Attorney Veronica Howard Sizer
Attorney Veronica Howard Sizer is the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Judah Lion Group and Judah Lion Investments. She is also the principal of the Law Office of Veronica L. Howard, LLC.
Attorney Sizer is in private practice and served as General Counsel to Baker City Schools.
Fomerly, Attorney Sizer was employed by the Office of Chief Counsel at the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), within the Department of Homeland Security. Attorney Sizer advised the various programs within FEMA on the appropriate application of the Stafford Act and other laws governing disaster response and recovery.
Before going to FEMA, Attorney Sizer served as Education Policy Advisor to Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, where she represented and advised the Governor on various education policy matters to move the state of Louisiana forward. She also represented the Governor on many Boards and commissions during her time with the Governor’s Office.
Prior to her tenure as Education Policy Advisor, Attorney Sizer served as an assistant attorney general with the Louisiana Department of Justice under the leadership of the Honorable Richard Ieyoub. There, she represented several state education boards, such as the Louisiana Board Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) and the Louisiana Board of Regents. In January of 2002, she was promoted to Section Chief of the Education/IAT section where she supervised twelve attorneys plus staff.
Before working with the Louisiana Attorney General, Attorney Sizer worked as Staff Attorney/Law Clerk for the Honorable Curtis A. Calloway at the 19th Judicial District Court.
Attorney Sizer is active in many professional and community organizations. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, and the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society of Greater Baton Rouge. Through these organizations, Attorney Sizer has actively sought to effect change in negative behavior by counseling teens on the dangers of criminal activity, alcohol and other drugs, and teen pregnancy, while also emphasizing the importance of education and spiritual growth. Attorney Sizer also served as Chair of The Center, Inc. Adult Day Health Care Board of Directors and a member of the Board of Directors for Capital Area Legal Services.
In 2001, Attorney Sizer was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel. As a result of the calling on her life, she has been asked on many occasions to bring the Word of God as a guest minister. Attorney Sizer is currently a member of the Star Hill Baptist Church and serves as Focus Area Leader of Youth Development. Attorney Sizer is also closely affiliated with Beech Grove Baptist Church in Clinton, Louisiana. At Beech Grove, Sizer served as Youth Church Minister and Youth Choir Director.
Attorney Sizer received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Southern University (Cum Laude) and a Juris Doctorate from the Southern University Law Center. Additionally, Attorney Sizer is board certified to practice law in the state of Louisiana.
